This fitness loop series will henceforth be referred to as the "Tame the Beast, Arkaquah," series. It is open to everyone but especially those planning to join " K " on the 13th of March for her "Tame the Beast" hike.

That's right, "Tame the Beast" Arkaquah to Brasstown Bald. This will be a series of " let's work on those trail legs" so we maybe we can enjoy the hike. I will add it is not a beginner hike.

We will start the series at Kennesaw Mountain. This is a fitness loop for intermediate or advanced fitness levels and it is up both Big Kennesaw and Little Kennesaw Mountain cross Burnt Hickory Road where we will take one of the loop trails and then cross both mountains again on the return to the visitor center. This can be very strenuous so make sure you are up for it. The distance is 81/2 - 10 miles.

Anyone is welcome to climb the mountain with us and return at their leisure to the visitor center. Please mention this in your RSVP if you plan to do this one.

Please bring plenty of water , snack, good hiking shoes, hiking attire appropriate for the weather.
We will meet by the cannon in front of visitor center.
We will start at 2:00 so please be on time and we should finish by 5:00-5:30.

This is great for cardio and endurance. So be prepared for a great workout. It is for intermediate to advanced fitness level.

I may have to cancel since I will be driving from Ringgold, GA about 2.5 hours! Due to weather, I will decide in the morning!

Event cancels for heavy rain or ice because of rocks. Snow flurries welcome. Dress in a couple of layers and you will warm up quickly. Hat, gloves and something for your neck and you should be fine.

It was a beautiful day to be outside! so glad we did this fitness workout. The ice was two to three inches long hanging from the trees and the sun shone in the background making it look like a winter wonderland. It was just starting to melt as we started and completely melted as we finished. The trails were fine. Had a great time. Nothing like a great workout with very good conversations going. Oh and the late lunch "goodies" were a great hit. Next time we'll turn it into a Fitness loop/Tailgate Party! Thanks for coming out and enjoying the afternoon.
    •  Had a great time, the trail was challenging, and met some great people!
    •  Great hike, we need to do that more often!
    •  This was faster paced than last week. Definitely a good workout.
