Moonshine Mountain Snow Tubing & Indian Mining Adventure Park in Hendersonville, NC offers the best snow tubing in the South. There's over 300 feet of fun & excitement for all ages! They are the only Snow Tubing Park in the Southeast that allows trains. Let's see how long a train we can make!

Kids welcome! After a couple of hours of tubing we'll enjoy lunch on site. They offer BBQ, burgers, chicken, etc. You're also welcome to pack your own lunch. After lunch we'll go on a short hike nearby. The hike is TBD but will be an easy and short hike.

Normally this is $25 but I've secured a group rate of $20. You must bring this in CASH so we can pay as a group. You should bring some additional cash for lunch also.

Required Items: Cold Weather Hiking Attire, Water - 2 liters, Lunch and Snacks
Recommended Items: Camera, Trekking Poles, a Smile!

Carpool Location: REI Buford at 1600 Mall of Georgia Blvd Buford, GA 30519. This is ACROSS GA 20 from the Mall behind the Ted's Montana Grill and next to the Costco.
Carpool Time: 7:45am with departure at 8:00am sharp. We cannot wait for those arriving late.

Carpool Costs: Your driver will determine the actual costs and divide among riders. Please be courteous and pay your driver. Distance is 362 miles round trip. Approximate cost is $14 per person. Assumes 20mpg and 4 persons per vehicle.

  The roads are too icy and slippery- I can't drive to the mall as it's 13 miles of backroads away from my house. Can we (those of us who can't make it) go next week, please? I was really looking forwards to this event.

  WE ARE DELAYING BY ONE HOUR. Major roads are fine so if you can get out of your neighborhood please meet at REI at 8:45am.

  @Cobb Carpoolers - I am going to have to cancel on this. My roads are all snow. I could barely make it up my driveway. I hope all that make it enjoy the day!

  It looks like 2 inches of snow on the local roads around my house- if it snows more I am not sure if I can drive. Will try my best!

  Hi everyone! Yes there is snow coming down but we are not cancelling. More snow = more fun! Having said that though please make a judgement call on your own in the morning. The Interstates and road we'll be on will all be clear. Your local roads might be another story.
  Also - it will be a good deal COLDER tomorrow than was predicted earlier. The high will only be 36 degrees so bundle up to stay warm!
  We'll have maps for hikes at Dupont State Forest and guides for downtown Hendersonville.

  Cobb meetup - Sorry but I've changed my RSVP to a "no". I got a flat tyre on the way into work this morning so will have to get that sorted out tomorrow and I would still need to find someone to walk my dogs tomorrow (which might not be easy given our imminent snow storm :)

  Ladies let me apologize, we might be over loaded... The trip is about 200 miles and 3:45 ... I am driving with Krista, Nomana, Mia and now Julie and Judy. My MDX does have a 3rd seat so we all can fit 6 & it will be cheaper in Gas for every one... My friend Krista might be bringing +1. So, What we will do is load up 7am Sat morning @ costco & work out all rides at REI; Once we get to REI there will be room in other cars there as well if someone want to or needs to change... Sound good
